About Ceramic Fibre Board
Ceramic Fibre Board is a rigid insulation board made by vacuum-forming alumina-silicate ceramic fibre with binders. It has the low thermal mass and high temperature capability of ceramic fibre blanket, but holds its own shape, so it can line flat walls, form a hot face that resists gas flow, and be cut into exact shapes.
It is used where blanket would sag or erode: furnace and kiln walls and doors, burner surrounds, flue and duct linings, and as a rigid backup layer behind brick or castable. Board is easy to cut with a knife or saw and fixes with ceramic fibre adhesive, anchors or mechanical fixings.
Ceramic fibre is made in several temperature grades. The grade, density, thickness and sheet size are confirmed on quotation, so state your operating temperature when you enquire.
Zenco Systems supplies ceramic fibre board from Nairobi to sites across Kenya and East Africa, alongside ceramic fibre blanket, modules, paper and bulk fibre.

Selection & Installation Guidance
Installation
Cut to size with a knife or fine saw; fix with ceramic fibre adhesive, anchors or mechanical fixings, and butt joints tightly.
Choose board over blanket when the insulation has to keep its shape or face a gas stream: hot-face linings on flat walls, burner blocks and doors, and partitions. Choose blanket when it has to wrap or fill an irregular space. A foil-faced version of the board is listed separately for positions that need a vapour barrier.
To request a quotation, send the operating temperature, the thickness and sheet size, the quantity and the delivery site.
Safety & Handling
Refractory ceramic fibre releases fine fibres when cut or handled. Wear gloves, long sleeves, eye protection and a P2 or P3 dust mask, cut with a knife rather than a power saw, and clean up by vacuum, not by brushing or compressed air.
Documentation
The manufacturer's technical datasheet and safety data sheet for the grade supplied are issued with every quotation, and name the certified values for this material.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between ceramic fibre board and blanket?
Both are ceramic fibre. Board is rigid and holds its shape, so it suits flat walls, doors and positions facing a gas stream. Blanket is flexible and suits wrapping and filling irregular spaces.
What temperature can ceramic fibre board withstand?
Ceramic fibre is made in grades from 1260°C upward. The grade supplied is confirmed on quotation, so state your operating temperature when you enquire.
Can ceramic fibre board be cut on site?
Yes, with a knife or fine-toothed saw. Wear a dust mask and gloves when cutting.
What should I send to get a quotation?
The operating temperature, the thickness and sheet size, the quantity and the delivery site. Availability, packaging, transport and documentation are confirmed by the sales team before dispatch.
