About Foil-Faced Glass Wool Roll
Foil-Faced Glass Wool Roll is a glass wool insulation blanket with reinforced aluminium foil bonded to one face. The glass wool provides thermal and acoustic insulation; the foil stops moisture entering it and reflects radiant heat.
It is the standard insulation under metal roof sheeting, where the foil faces the building and keeps condensation out of the insulation, and on ductwork and walls in building services. Every lap is sealed with aluminium foil tape so the vapour barrier is continuous.
Glass wool is a lower-temperature insulation than rockwool or ceramic fibre, and the foil facing limits the service temperature further, so it is not used on hot process equipment. Thickness, density and roll size are confirmed on quotation.
Zenco Systems supplies foil-faced glass wool from Nairobi across Kenya and East Africa, together with plain glass wool blanket and aluminium foil tape.

Selection & Installation Guidance
Installation
Lay or fix with the foil facing the warm, humid side as specified, overlap the edges and seal every lap with aluminium foil tape.
Use the foil-faced roll where a vapour barrier is needed — roofs, ducting, cold and humid spaces. Use plain glass wool where it is not, and rockwool where the temperature is higher or fire performance governs.
To request a quotation, send the area to be covered, the thickness, the quantity and the delivery site.
Safety & Handling
Glass wool can irritate skin, eyes and the throat. Wear gloves, long sleeves, eye protection and a dust mask when cutting and fitting.
Documentation
The manufacturer's technical datasheet and safety data sheet for the grade supplied are issued with every quotation, and name the certified values for this material.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which way should the foil face?
Towards the warm, humid side, so moisture is stopped before it reaches the insulation. Under a roof this usually means the foil faces the building interior.
Is foil-faced glass wool suitable for hot pipes?
No. It is a low-temperature building and HVAC insulation. Hot process pipework needs rockwool or calcium silicate.
What should I send to get a quotation?
The area to be covered, the thickness, the quantity and the delivery site. Availability, packaging, transport and documentation are confirmed by the sales team before dispatch.
