About Ceramic Ferrules
Ceramic Ferrules are refractory ceramic sleeves inserted into the inlet ends of boiler tubes in waste heat boilers and similar heat exchangers. The hottest, most erosive gas meets the tubesheet first; the ferrules carry it into the tubes and shield the tube ends and tube-to-tubesheet welds from overheating and erosion.
Ferrules are usually set into a refractory lining over the tubesheet, with ceramic fibre paper or rope wrapped around them to fill the gap and allow for expansion. They are replaced during boiler inspections when cracked or eroded.
Ferrules are made to fit the tube size. Material, length and outside diameter are confirmed on quotation, so send the tube dimensions or a drawing of the ferrule in use.
Zenco Systems supplies ceramic ferrules from Nairobi across Kenya and East Africa, together with the ceramic fibre paper, castable and anchors used around them.

Selection & Installation Guidance
Installation
Wrap with ceramic fibre paper or rope, insert into the tube inlet, and set into the tubesheet refractory as specified.
Match replacement ferrules to the tubes and to the ferrules currently fitted: tube inside diameter, ferrule length and head shape.
To request a quotation, send the tube dimensions or a ferrule drawing, the quantity and the delivery site.
Safety & Handling
Ceramic ferrules are brittle; handle and store them in their packaging to avoid chipping.
Documentation
The manufacturer's technical datasheet and safety data sheet for the grade supplied are issued with every quotation, and name the certified values for this material.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a ceramic ferrule do?
It lines the inlet end of a boiler tube, carrying the hottest gas into the tube and protecting the tube end and tubesheet weld from overheating and erosion.
How do I order the right size?
Send the tube inside diameter and a drawing or the dimensions of the ferrules currently fitted.
What should I send to get a quotation?
The tube dimensions or a ferrule drawing, the quantity and the delivery site. Availability, packaging, transport and documentation are confirmed by the sales team before dispatch.
